SMB is not supported by default on newer MAC OSX. This thread might be of help. Scan to network folder on a Mac
ftp scanning on a mac is really the way to go. Lots of articles here and online on how to do it. It really isn't bad to do.
I've proved mathematics wrong. 1 + 1 doesn't always equal 2.........
Especially when it comes to sex
Huh yeah very cute...
I've decoded your statement from earlier 'SMB is not supported by default on newer MAC OSX' the original SMBv1 (what you call SMB) and CIFS are no longer supported since 10.7, though some newer versions of SMB e.g. SMBv2 are supported. From what I remember reading a while back Apple had to create their own SMB implementation from 10.7 on-wards due to licensing changes in Samba.
FTP on the other hand is no longer enabled by default on the Mac OS since 10.7 and hence not supported. Though it can be enabled by the end users via a few different ways if required.
There are numerous other posts on this subject. A number of them have this link: SMBUp – eduo.info
I don't work on Ricoh's but in general if the device supports direct hosting of SMB over tcp/ip (port 445) you should be able to scan to a shared folder on a Mac.
