7-Zip. It can extract just about any kind of compressed file, including exe's and ISO's. It's also very helpful for things like HP print drivers where you don't need all of the additional bloatware. Just extract the contents of the driver download and when installing the printer in Windows, just point the printer install menu at the folder you've extracted the driver files to and magically you've got a printer installed without taking several hours.

    Irfanview, which was already mentioned.

    PuTTy, for telnet and SSH

You may like to search the CTN forums. There are some old posts with the similar requests.

I often recommend to customers the free version of "Glary Utilities" to help clean up slow computers.

Think I am getting old. Some old school file manager, if you remember the Total Commander.

Ghisler expanded it as app and Win Phone or Android. FTP works like magic on the win phone. Also neat feature is transfering files through QR code from device to device on same WiFi network.
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

    Cheers...
Wireshark (best packet analyser on the planet, still can’t believe it’s free)
    KDiff3 (comparing file contents)
Notepad++ (show a lot of stuff a regular editor such as MS Notepad will not)_
PrintUI (part of Windows but set up tonnes of queues real fast)
cscript prnmngr.vbs (same as above, pretty much)
SNMP Walk (run various commands on a device and retrieve info)
RSH (not included since Vista but can be added, shut down machines without logon)
Driver Store Explorer (saves having to use pnputil.exe commands)
TrayID (Wandering Idea software ltd, tells you all the ID of you installed drivers)
GNS3 (Cisco router and switch emulator)
    Softerra LDAP Browser
    Foxit Reader
    Elaborate Bytes Clone Drive
Fing (handy for Android phones/tablets to see who's running on your attached network)
Wifi Analyser (for Android and inSSIDer for windows)
    Process Explorer (sysinternals.com)
    Process Monitor (syinternals.com)
Various Network and Port Scanners (Solarwinds, etc)
NAPS2 (for testing Twain and WIA scanning)
Various PDL viewers (Rampant Logic, Ghostview, etc)
PuTTy (SSH + testing telnet test print to 9100 and checking SMTP server ports open)
    Virtual Box or VMPlayer
    Remote Desktop Manager
    Screen Recorder
    7Zip.
    Bonjour Print Services for Windows
    ISO to USB
Okay, I’ve run out of time but might add more at a later date.. Beware that 'free sotware' may exclude you from using whilst doing your job so read the license.

Good advice, this is a pretty common thing to see EULA's.

Wireshark is another utility I've played around with. It needs its own manual or a few hours of playing around to figue out how to capture and filter scan or print packets on the network.
Honestly I've found the switches with ping, tracert, and arp commands more useful in the copier business than wireshark.

Another piece of software to play around with is Internet Information Services (IIS). If you have the pro version of windows 7 (or 10 I think) you can add it. With it you can setup your laptop as a local smtp server to test email functions, or host a simple website.
