Canon Scan with Mac High Sierra

We delivered a Canon irAdv color copier to a customer recently and the owner has a Mac computer with High Sierra 10.13.2 loaded. The rest of the employees have Windows and we have them all set up to print and scan. I know nothing about Mac and unfortunately neither does the guy with the Mac so he can't even tell me where to go to add a printer etc. We finally have it printing but I don't know where to start on the scan other than setting up a folder on the desktop labeled Canon Scans. Can someone tell me what I need to do on the Mac end, it looks foreign to me. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Canon Scan with Mac High Sierra

Ouch. I feel your pain. I quit trying to get SMB scanning to work on MAC's ages ago and went to FTP. Of course Apple decided to shut off FTP by default, so you have to enable it.

I don't run into many MACs lately & the ones I do see all want Scan to Email so my life as been easier.

Scratch that. Google says High Sierra doesn't have the native FTP anymore.

Here's a link to a Copytech fix: FTP in Mac OSX 10.13 High Sierra
