Older machine connection problems/ IP / Fiery

I added an older C6500 to the fleet.

    First time using a fiery.

I have the printers IP and The Fiery IP address.

Downloaded all The work station Fiery and printer drivers.

I Cannot locate the IP address for either Printer or Fiery on the PC and connect them. I understand Fiery First. Via ping, IP search or Workstation search and server add. I called the cable company... those numbnuts can see my IP address that Im looking for . No help though

The Fiery must be on the back and looks like the controller. Two ports, one flashes green and orange. The other both green. Fiery reads 00.

What gives here? All day on this thing and its driving me nuts. There has to be something simple Im doing wrong.

Re: Older machine connection problems/ IP / Fiery

The Fiery controller has two NICs hence two I.P addresses.
One for the MFD connection and one for the customers network.
(Make sure the cables are connected to the correct NICs).

By factory default the Fiery will be set to DHCP.
But if been previously setup and used else where it may of been set manually to a different network / range.

I wouldn't take anyone's word for it what the I.P address is.
How are you obtaining the I.P information?

If you cannot ping the Fiery controller, or get to the web interface or use command workstation to pick it up on a network search it's either not configured correctly for the network it's attached to or it's being blocked or the NIC maybe faulty (unlikely).

Somewhere on the Fiery controller there is normally a button or pin hole that will reset the controller back to the defaults.

Re: Older machine connection problems/ IP / Fiery

The Fiery controller connects to the C6000 through the gigabit Ethernet connector on each. The gigabit connector on the fiery is the bottom connector. There is no IP address setting for the gigabit connectors as they only connect to each other. If the C6000 has only one connector, it is not configured for use with the Fiery. The network must be connected to the top connector on the Fiery or you will not be able to see it on the network.

Another thing to check are the SP settings. SP5193-001 and SP5895-001 should be set to 1 for Fiery operation.
