Connecting Sharp MV-M 565 Via Mobile hotspot.

I dont like connecting equipment wirelessly because of dropped signals and password changes but now I have a salesman that wants us to connect via a Mobile hotspot. I have never had a need to use one and I am a bit ignorant as to whether it is possible to connect a MX-M565 to a hotspot.
any help & guidance is appreciated. I have this on the sharp forum but thought connection guys would have some insight.

    Thanks

Its fine. I'm not sure why he would, but I've done it before when i was testing wireless settings under different security set ups.

The question is, for what purpose?

For example. If its to print to machine, it will be easier and more reliable to turn the mfp to access point mode, and use your mobile device to connect to the machine. Rather the machine to connect to the mobile device.

It is in a construction trailer with no internet. They havean ATT mobile hotspot that can connect up to 15 devices. The want it to act asa router and allow all computers to be able to use the Sharp MX-565 at the sametime like a normal office environment. I tried using my I phone as a hotspot totest it but have been unable to connect MFP to iphone hotspot

Re: Connecting Sharp MV-M 565 Via Mobile hotspot.

We have done multiple rentals to construction companies that were using AT&T mobile hotspots. There is no problem setting them up the only thing we run into is after it is set up getting IP conflicts because they have multiple phones and workstations connecting. If the machine is off, like first thing in the morning, and someone picks up the MFP's IP you will get a call for not being able to print.

The only issue that I have seen is if the customer will be using a VPN connection to connect to their home network. Some VPN's will not allow connected clients to use their local devices. These customers I have seen usually switch their network connection or disconnect from VPN when they want to print locally.
