    Looking for a manual or help Canon Cque v4

    Another plea for help.

    We have two Canon machines in our office, a c5030i printer and a LBP7680Cx printer. They were working well up until recently when we have had to install new computers. They are all running 64 bit Linux Mint v18.3.

    It has been decided that this is my problem; we have a very friendly office!

    I have downloaded and installed the deb file without any problem and find I have another version of Cque. Now, I have used Cque before, only it was v1. The one I now have to contend with is v4. It is different. I cannot find a manual anywhere, or instructions on how to set up a printer. There is a ‘setup’ script in /opt/cel/bin but when I run it all that happens it this
    $ sudo /opt/cel/bin/setup
    [sudo] password for ********:
    localhost [127.0.0.1] 631 (ipp) open

    After about 20 seconds I am returned to the prompt. Has anyone got any suggestions please?

    Here's some info on v2. I hope it helps.

    If your devices have PostScript installed, you could also go with Codehost drivers.

    Hi guitar9199, thank you for your reply.

    I have a copy of both the user guide and reference manual for v2 but v4 seems so very different; at least as far as installing a printer is concerned. In v2 all you have to do is click on the CQue menu item and that fires up the installer. In v4 there is no CQue menu item only the ‘setup’ script that I mentioned in my first post and that does not appear to do anything much.

    I have been around Linux for a good many years now, hence I am the one that they all turn to. This, however, has got me really flummoxed. Meanwhile we seem to be going through injet ink like it is going out of fashion.

    Hello slimslob.

    I thought I had posted in the correct place as I was asking for help in getting our copiers working under Linux. I am sorry if I was wrong, I did not mean to confuse. I will repost my original question as you suggested.
