    scan to email fail

Unable to set up scan to email on a Samsung 8128.I inserted 2 different known email addresses and login credentials, but the self test fails.
This was working at a hotel until the machine lost the smpt server info. I have seen hat before on this model.
Putting the network cable from the copier into my laptop brings up a sign in page. Is this possibly what is preventing the copier from sending the test.

    Re: scan to email fail

Very possible. Sounds like the machine is connected to the public side of the network. It needs an authentication for the machine, usually laptop, to sign in to be allowed to get network traffic. Similar to an LDAP but not as secure. the trick would be to create your own wireless network bypassing the hotel network.

machine is using the DNS and GATEWAY picked up by DHCP.
It worked before the smtp got wiped out.
I have seen this model lose its smtp mysteriously before

    Your assuming TOO much
do and ipconfig /all and set it up manually Post a screen shot of settings

add 8.8.8.8 as second or third DNS setting
