    Mac OS Mojave job accounting

i have a customer with a Kyocera 3051. they got a new employee and this version of mac has Mojave and the job accounting only shows preset numbers...which are not even close the what everyone else is using. Is there a way to specify a specific accounting number, and if so how.

Did you go into CUPS interface in Safari, localhost:631 to see if you can make a setting change there???Mac OS Mojave job accounting

    Good call.

BTW...You MUST use Safari. AFAIK, no other browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc...) will work, although I've never personally tried them to access CUPS on a Mac.

Correct! Safari is an Apple product is "hooked" into the OS. If CUPS isn't enabled, it will have to be enabled through the Terminal app/CLI.Mac OS Mojave job accounting

Try configuring the account codes in Chrome, Notes, or MS Word. Set as a preset for B&W and Color and should be good. Some print drivers do not play properly with Safari on the newer Mac OS's.

I myself have never tried setting up codes through CUPS.

Ummm...CUPS--Common Unix Printing System (server) is the CORE management system for printers/drivers on all *nix OS's...all printing defaults get pushed to other programs. Apple has made it so you *HAVE TO* enter an admin password to modify printing defaults in CUPS!!!Mac OS Mojave job accounting

Re: Mac OS Mojave job accounting

Just checked my MAC driver for a C3551ci running on Mojave. The latest driver Version 4.0 has a "print panel" option that will allow you to set different Account codes under the "Job" settings. If you do use this Driver, make sure you remove the old version as per Kyocera.

    Good luck

Re: Mac OS Mojave job accounting

The latest printer driver for ricoh says "the user ID specified in the driver user interface might not be reflected unless the user interface is opened through specific applications".
Usually when we setup user code authentication, it is configured on the printing preferences. Now with this new OS, that feature is missing.

    Aye! Cut the crap
