hi.
why ricoh does not care about drivers to print on mac without postscript?
How do you print those that have mac with ricoh with other paper sizes (not A4, not legal, not letter) other sizes?
or I am bound to get sd card postscript

Only Canon supports PCL on Macs
Why does't Ricoh add Postscript with all there Machines? Like Kyocera?
Cost factor plus about 1 out every 100 installs I run into has a Mac
Marketshare and last I knew Canon and HP are on top.

The key word here is “emulation”.
In my experience, emulated PostScript normally fares poorly compared to genuine Adobe PostScript. PCL or Canon’s UFRII for Mac work fairly well, but not as well.
It’s not a standard feature because a licensing fee goes to Adobe. There is no sense in including it as most users will never need it.
Keep in mind, though, that many higher end Windows apps can take advantage of PostScript. And don’t forget that a lot of Linux flavors have a taste for it, too.
Most Mac users have learned to expect the premium cost.

MAC does have a built in Generic PCL Driver that does work with Ricoh. It does not allow setting options.
I agree.
Even my $150 Brother desktop printer has PostScript.
Again, though, it's not Adobe PostScript. I think it's called "BrotherScript".
Apparently, Ricoh feels that if you are purchasing a higher end printer, that you would want the real deal, and go for the Adobe version.
Then again, who knows what kind of relationships printer manufacturers have with Adobe...that's not for us mere mortals to know.

bad for ricoh.
Even minolta with the old bizhub c450 still prints well in mojave and with old driver.
A minolta if you care about customers.
