Scanning is not supported on Ricoh MFP's thru USB. It is for printing only.
The scanning TWAIN driver is for NETWORK, IP based scanning.
It clearly states in the operating instruction that you can use USB for twain compliant programmes
OK, after looking in the user manuals, I see that the DDST model can do USB scanning or network TWAIN, but the GW or full function machine can only do Network Twain.
Page 472 of the 802 page PDF that can be downloaded. Or Page 10 of the DDST Printer/Scanner reference. The regular print/scan option referance for scanner on page 313 of 802 or page 2 and 80 on the scanner referance manual.
Also, this may NOT be supported on Vista. I see drivers for it, but that may only support the MP2000, not the MP2000L.
Well thanks for the replies lads, this mp2000 will scan via usb to vista, I managed it today. I had to go into start>computer>(right click)services and allow the driver to be used as it is not an authentic windows item, like every thing in vista it requires permission-bingo
