Defaults Does this machine have a specific information file, ie a PPD file, for unix? If it does, make sure it is loaded correctly. If it does not, then it sounds like it's just sending a generic print jop to the queue - basically unix doesn't know what it's printing to in terms of what functions it has, paper sources or exit trays; it just drops the info off and the printer handles it. When it does this, the machine will always use it's default settings for printing, usually refered to as the RAW Printing defaults. Most machine's allow you to edit these settings in a web interface, and paper source should be one of the settings.
I've run accross this with old apps running on Linux or DOS. If you need to use multiple paper sources it's a bit more tricky. |
