Very good impression at first look.
At the moment i Fu**ing hate windows 7 2 clean installs because it crashes after updates on bootup. I've just updated the bios from lenovo so fingers crossed or i'll drive my car over this. It looks like im not alone when it crashes on updates.

Use Foomatic rip

Most latest Linux distros come with Foomatic already installed. It uses a postscript interpreter called Ghostscript. You can use it to print to non-postscript machines. you can even use it to print to your little inkjet printer at home. Just go here and read:

OpenPrinting | The Linux Foundation

You can use it on MAC as well. I tested it on MAC Leopard printing to a Ricoh MPC4500 with stapling, hole punch, duplex and full color.

Any .PPD file will work in the CUPS system. You can find them in Mac and Windows PS drivers. If you are doing a lot of different platforms of Linux (i.e. Debian, RedHat, Fedora, SuSE, etc.) and don't have time to familiarize yourself with all of them you can install the Webmin packages found here: Webmin and then you will always have a familiar interface for installing printers. Don't forget to install Samba so you can share the printer to Windows PCs on the same network.
