scan to smb for okidata b4545

I cannot get scan to smb to work for okidata b4545 mfp....

I have setup the copier and I have gotten everything to work with the companion suite...

but as every tech knows... software will not always be compatible... so you need to have a work around...

I got scan to ftp, and scan to media to work...j

but I have no luck with scan to smb...

I tried everything in the post listed below but still no luck

    Source post...

I even went googled the issue and came up with the following link

    okidata smb option setup

    I still had no luck....

I am on a windows server 2003 network...

I have tried bypassing this by setting up a local account on my machine and scan to it.... I have a kmc4035e and this has worked...
the setup is such... I have a user user name a password an ip address and a path... and all works on the kyocera... I have even figured out how to get it to work on the network with the kyocera... change the user name to username@domain.local and it works...

but the okidata just wont take it...

I am wondering if something is wrong with the way i have networked the machine... it prints and does everything else but it just wont smb... is there something that I am missing... ???

I have it setup and it shoots me an error 51.... the copier has problems authenticating... I am pretty much stuck... any help will do...

I'm just fishing: Is the Oki set to port 139 or 445, or something else? Apparently port 139 is not blocked if you got the kyocera to scan SMB. You might also try using the Oki's Hostname instead of IP.

not sure how to change the port or even what the port number is... will check now... just checked still more lost... how would i specify port number in the settings for scan to smb... I know there is a way... just don't remember... i think its the ip address: port number... like 192.168.1.1:139... am I right...?

Since it works from your laptop but not their network I would check that the credentials (user/pass) the mfp is using work on their network and have been given access to the shared folder. You should be able to test the username/password by logging on to any workstation which is part of the domain, and browse to the shared folder.

clarification: i can scan from the kyocera to the laptop directly or using network credentials... I get the 51 error code when scanning from the okidata to the laptop directly or using network credentials...

Try viewing the security logs on the server after a scan attempt has been made, it might give you more of an insight as to why the scan transfer isn't working. If an error log doesn't display for the scan user login attempt, then it would appear that the scanned image isn't reaching the server.
