The place its at has its wireless router on 2nd floor. THey guy doesnt wasnt to move it case he wants to use the copier just as a scanner downstairs so im using cross over. I gave the copier a IP and am using the FTP function. Set my FTP on his laptop with root, anonymous user and 1234 password. His laptop is not password protected
Now you just need to configure the machine with a scan destination via web browser or locally on the machine. I don't know the procedure by memory, but you can download the user manuals from the Konica Minolta website, I think. Or you should have a CD with those, if your customer didn't use it as a coaster.

Maybe it's the FTP Utility. What OS are you using it with? I don't think it works well with Vista or 7. You can try to connect to the computer from another PC to see if it works, or you can try another FTP server. I personally like to use the Filezilla Server, since it's opensource and free for commercial use (at least I think it is).

I have had the same issue with Windows 7 OS. Had a customer up and running great through SMB on XP, they upgraded their computers and I couldn't not get it to work through 7 OS. I was getting a firewall SC, so I am assuming, it's just not meant to be with OS 7.
