As MRWHO said, win7 uses a new SMB protocol, you need to upgrade the NIC Firmware on all Ricoh Boxes. But there is another Problem you are running into, the 1027 and 2045 don't support Scan to SMB at all, you need a Software Tool named "Scanrouter" to make it work. I would suggest you to setup the Boxes for Scan to E-Mail as a Workaround.

The 2045ESP uses SMB scanning, as well as 2027. They also require a custom firmware update for scanning in a Windows Server2003 environment. There aren't any firmware updates to these machines for Windows 7-64 bit. Scanrouter also will not work beyond Server2003 and Windows XP. The best bet here, if the customers do not/cannot upgrade, is like herrman says, to set up scan to email.

First of all, SMB is NOT a Windows protocol and Microsoft does not update SMB.
Second of all, SMB is acheived in Windows via Folder Sharing. Windows 7 moved away from folder sharing into Homegroups. You can access "Advanced Sharing" controls to 'emulate' folder sharing. HOWEVER, you will have to change some security settings before non-homegroup based systems can access these emulated SMB shares. In the Network and Sharing Center, click on "Change Advanced Sharing Settings" You will be presented with 2 main subheadings, Work and Home, and Public. Under the appropriate subheading (based on what type of network you are connected to) change the following;
1 - File Sharing Connections - select "Enable sharing for devices that use 40- or 56-bit encryption"
2 - Password Protected Sharing - set to "turn on password protected sharing"
3 - HomeGroup Connections - set to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers"

This will allow the devices to access the SMB shares in Windows 7. Remember the shared folder must have full privledges.

It will put the document in a folder in the format you choose. TWAIN is basically a format like PDF, TIFF, or JPEG. If there is an application that requires it to be TWAIN, then you need the driver.

on step 2 - you may put it to turn off password protected sharing if your customer refuse to put a password...

also bear in mind some of the user may have changed their username without going through delete old-create new cycle... find out their old username using command prompt

Using Windows 7, if Windows Live Essentials is installed on that PC, it can knock out scans to a folder. You must remove ALL components of "Essentials". I have seen this only on Sharp machines but I figured it was worth mentioning.
