Mac 10.7 printing to Konica with user authentication enabled?

Has anyone come across any issues with printing from a mac 10.7 machine to a Konica bizhub C280 series or similar, with user authentication enabled? I have a machine that keeps getting a login error even though the login information is correct. They were previously using the 10.6 ppd driver and it worked with user authentication, but had an issue printing pdfs. We updated their ppd to the 10.7 but now the user authentication doesn't work. The only way to get them to print, is to disable user authentication. Just curious if anyone else out there is having this issue.

The C280 is compatible with MAC 10.7 so this should'nt be an issue
try putting in the user auth info i'n the driver and save it as a preset then try print if that dose not work (as a test) set the machine under
utility/admin/user auth/ print without auth -set to allow, dose this log the job under the user ?.

10.7 does not yet support user authentification. 10.6 is the latest for this function that works.

Yes, I have seen this with a different device and the Mac being upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6.

Now if Mr. Spock is right, then you are out of luck.

What I had to do to fix my issue was to remove the PPD and then remove a folder under the Printers folder somewhere which is named Konica Minolta. With the newer Mac drivers coming out, the PPD no longer contains all the information. There are parts of the driver held else where on the HDD (hence the Konica Minolta installer and the fact that you provide the installation destination when running the installer). Those other parts on the HDD contain mostly option and function information. Chances are that the 10.6 stuff that is on there is conflicting with the 10.7 driver.

What I was told was that Apple change something in the print section to 10.7's o/s and that is what is needed for user auth to work (it maybe the samba change). As of yesterday I have not heard of any official fixes for this. The Apple forums may have a work around but I do not visit them.

I did not check the knowledge base or special drivers when I posted. Usually get an email about this.

I've done a couple of 10.7 installs on C452/C360 and C654 with authentication and no issue. Just make sure to add the account information on the output selection on the printer features.

Re: Mac 10.7 printing to Konica with user authentication enabled?

I had to go searching for the article, but the specifics talk about the Authentication check box not remaining checked once set.

I would definately have to say that in this case, there could be parts of the 10.6 driver still floating about on the system.
