Its coming up with 'transmission has failed' I have shared the folder with full permissions, firewall settings turned off as well. Machine has successful connection to the pc. I have done tests on other operating systems and they are successful. Help me out with this people cheers!!

    Here's the solution

Disable Secure negotiate on the client windows 8 or windows server 2012 until firmware is ready for use

    • Disable "Secure Negotiate" on the client. You can do this using PowerShell on a Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8 client, using the command:
      Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanma nWor kstation\Parameters" RequireSecureNegotiate -Value 0 -Force
Note: The command as displayed above may wrap multiple lines in your web browser.

Here's a list of all of the new SMB features that are available in Windows 8/Server 2012:

      Server Message Block (SMB)

As of November 15, 2012 Ricoh has yet to release the firmware update required to make Scan to Folder possible on Windows 8. The SMB version that Windows 8 is using, is not compatable with Ricoh copiers yet (except possibly the 2012 released models ie C4502). Disabling the secure negotiate will not work. Firmware will be released, newer models first, sometime in the future.

New firmware versions are being released to resolve this issue. Newer models already have the new versions available.

Im of course having this same issue--kinda like the same issue with MACS and 10.75 I guess this is the company's way of getting business to upgrade there devices? This is not rocket science all though I am no programmer. It seems the NEED is geared more towards newer equipment rather then taking care of the customers who already purchased a device last yr or 2 yrs ago?

Maybe we should all just go back to software to scan since Windows or Apple don't want us using SMB to do a very simple task.

Wonder will FTP still work ?

Firmware is on the way for Kyocera and Ricoh (don't know about other brands). If the firmware is not yet available, then you simply can use the workaround mentioned by Frits. I haven't tried it yet but I think FTP shouldn't be a problem.
