I have quiet a number of service manuals, anybody knows a good PDA or smart phone that has the capability of reading pdf with sketches , ideal to read service manuals?

You just need something with a big screen so that you can see the pictures correctly.

I myself have been using an i-Mate JasJam until the other day when I bought a SonyEriccson Xperia. If I can't read the manuals the screen, then I just fire up my laptop.

Basically, all Windows Mobile devices should read PDF's or have the ability to have a PDF reader installed.

thank you... i am currently doing it with my laptop but sometimes it becomes boring. i think i'll try the ipaq series.
