    Canon NP 6050 Error 031

Hello there. hope somebody will share their technical expertise on my problem. First of all i will tell you that i have no other machine at the store. only 1 canon np 6050 that's why i have no chance to swap parts on trouble shooting. The problem is when i turn on the copier, with door closed, it immediately display error 031 ( the option counter has an open circuit). I checked the resistance of J104B-6 and J104B-7 and it is about 500 ohms. it's ok. Then i checked J104B-6 (+) and J104A-6 (-) on DC controller. It has NO 24vdc. That's why i suspect that the DC Controller is Defective.
Before i buy the Controller, i want to asked your opinion if anybody has this problem before. or if there is any way to make the copier work without replacing the board. Also i suspect that there is a ground or short circuit thats why 24v dc is cut-off.

I only read this tread to remember the good ol days. I havent seen a np6050 in about 15 years but I do remeber having issues with front door switches. They interupt the 24 v supply. The contacts inside the switch have corrosion from arcing. You can carefully open the switch and clean them. If your missing 24vdc trace it back to its source, the dc power supply.

Re: Canon NP 6050 Error 031

i found the answer to my problem on error 031. I replaced the main power switch. It is the small coil on the middle of the power switch causing error 031.
error 031 is gone but the machine indicates "remove jam on lower right cover" while there is no actual jam or paper on the path. PS27, PS30, PS36 are good. At power the jam is displayed.
