    GR3750 System Version Question

I'll get right to it: my system version is 5.02 and I need to be on system version 5.02A.

Barring using a time machine to go back to the mid 1990s, is there a way to "upgrade" or "flash"my system ROM version from 5.02 to 5.02A?

The reason is the SC7700 that I am trying to connect it to requires at least 5.02A.

    Re: GR3750 System Version Question

I didn't update firmware on the GRs that often when they were not obsolete, so I'm not entirely sure.
But if I remember correctly, there is a ROM chip on the system board that needs to be changed.
I found this tech pub from back in the day that might be useful:

Thanks for this - very helpful! I have reached out to Riso in the hope that they might still offer switching out ROMs but not holding my breath. May need to track down another GR board with the ROM I need to make this work.

    Re: GR3750 System Version Question

I found a GR2750 with system ROM: V6.02C. Would that board be compatible with the GR3750? I looked at the bulletin you linked to but just want to be sure. Thanks!!!

Looks like you should be OK, all the information I have says that the 2750 and the 3750 use the same system board and ROMs.

I'll let everyone know! Hoping to pick up later this week. I have installed an options card in my GR3750 but in terms of switching out a system board, any sage Riso advice from folks who have done this before? I have both the 2750 and the 3750 repair manuals.

SUCCESS!!! I installed a system PCB from a GR2750 which had one of the supported SC7700 ROM versions (V6.02C). I also had to change the SW2 switch on the system PCB board for A3 printing.

Before powering on the SC7700, I ran test mode 97 on the GR3750 and reset the SC7700 to factory settings.

HUGE Thanks to Iowatech big time for providing the Riso tech bulletin with the much needed info on ROM compatibility for the SC7700.
