    Riso RZ220 eouter setup

    Hi all,

I'm trying to set up a router to my rz220 machine but i'm having trouble figure out how to do it.

how do i set up an IP address for the machine/router? if i connect my laptop to the router, are there any other steps to make it work once the ip addresses are set??? I also have a parallel port to usb cable, but I can't get to seem to get my laptop to make a master from there. etc

Thanks! Any walk through process/help would be appreciated

(I'm running OSX on a mac)

Page 72 of the User's Guide for IP Address Settings (for RZ2xx, unavailable). I don't remember ever trying to hook up a RZ220. Only 390's and 590's to PC's, if I remember right RISO was way behind on the Mac stuff back in the day.

Question Re: Riso RZ220 eouter setup

Hi, I am bumping this very old thread!!

I have an RZ220, the RZ 2 print driver, and a parallel port to USB. It connects. The driver works. The print queue comes up with the document, says it is printing/sending data, shows it loading, and then "sends"..aka disappears off the list. But nothing happens with our Riso.

    Any insight?

I'd check the specs to verify that the RZ-220 actually has PostScript! If it doesn't have it, your data light will flash, and the job will not print.

FYI... With a Mac, it doesn't matter whose name is on the box!! Unless there's a proprietary Mac driver for that specific machine (ie: Canon UFR II), it's got to have PostScript.

I'm going to be a dummy and ask how I check that! I installed a Mac specific RZ 2U Series driver. But I realize I could install any driver so that doesn't mean much.

    I'd check the spec sheets.
