You should try resetting the machine by holding down the "Reset" key while turning the machine on, and continuing to hold the key down for 5-10 seconds. If I remember correctly, service mode 110 does mostly the same thing as well, so if you are comfortable using service mode you might try that too.
Along those lines, if you are comfortable taking the back off the machine, you might take a look back there to make sure all of the solenoids are in the default position. While I have never seen that on the MZ line, sometimes on older machines the return spring on a solenoid will break or fall off, and in this case it sounds like the pressure solenoid didn't release and so the pressure roller is still in contact with that drum. Just be REALLY CAREFUL, as there are many sharp edges and very strong springs that WILL HARM YOU OTHERWISE! Especially with the pressure system.
Hopefully that works, as the next kind of likely thing is that the drum is not in home position. While there is a manual release for the drum, I wouldn't recommend using it if the drum is out of home position as it will only make things worse, and actually a lot worse too if you don't know what to do next.

    Hello

I Seem to hava a similar problem. My Riso MZ 770 gives me the error Message "Rear Cover Safety Switch OFF" and i am unable to find out what to do about it. Have tried almost everything… I do see that the Print Drum 1 is not in Home Position, and have no clue what i school do now. Do you have any idea what this could be?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Let me know what other information you need.
    Greetings from Switzerland

By the Way: The Reset function does not work on this machine…¿?

Check the back covers. One or more are not screwed down. There are safety switches on the back of the frame to prevent running while back cover is off. Possibly the switch is out of position not getting actuated with cover on.
    Good luck.

    Hello,

thank you for getting back to me. I found the problem. Actually i had turned the Key that is hidden under the Ink-Cover Placeholder. This key then gives the Error Message.
I tell you that i had a laugh when i found this.

Take Care and have a nice Day

Red face Re: RISO MZ 770 color drum stuck

So,last night something simmilar happened to us. we were printing with our machine, suddenly we had a paper stuck issue (paper jam), we removed the paper. when we tried to start printing again, stg with this drum happened (see the photo.) The machine turned off during the print process. After some hours we managed to take the drum out again (it was blocked) and then we tried to turn the machine back on but nothing happened. As you will see in the video, there is electricity, the switch of the machine is clicking, but we have no answer from the display. Any idea of what happened?
Then we checked for the drums and we see that the second position enters normally, on the other hand the first position seems a lil bit stucked, theres no click once we closed it, what happened there? maybe this is the reason why the machine still not starting normally.

Here the video of the turning on Facebook
    Our machine: Riso mz1070E
    Thanks all for your help!

I've had that happen to me before on a RZ1090. If my memory is correct, the power supply board is most likely dead. I don't know what exactly caused it, but my machine was dead. Good luck finding a replacement. If RISO has one, is going to be expensive.

Hello, how is it, I hope it's okay, that model on the power supply board also has a fuse, the power supply board are 100% repairable, you need an electronics technician, also in the first photo you can see that the paper separator nail , it almost damaged the drum clamp, you have to check the pit where that drum was, can you take a photo please, because maybe you should synchronize the timing of the drums with the main gears, I can help you, I am a RISO technical specialist.
