RZ 390 - Can't get into test mode
Am in the process of changing a yellow drum to brown but when I turn on the unit with the right and left position arrows depressed it comes up with the ink color error code rather than test mode LL code... I put in a new, genuine Riso ink cartridge then go into the power up procedure. Happens with several drums. Mystified for sureand would sure appreciate any thoughts on this.

Check print position buttons.

it is normal for the machine to come up with an error code if you have a different colour ink in the drum to that
which it has already been set, when the error code comes up press reset button to clear the error code then proceed
to reprogram the drum with the new colour ink, I think it is code 890 the press start to lock it in

Thanks for your post, machine inhabited by a digital gremlin.. did try the reset button to no avail... Finally got it to enter test mode by pushing the position keys and the reset button at the same time...now it's functioning normally. Who knows?
