Riso CR1610 (EP) - Color Ink Tube Not Recognised in Black Drum
I'm trying to convert 2 black Riso CR1610 drum to red and blue ink. I have tried popping in the color ink tubes but warning indicator (2) lights and it won't let me print. I've done some digging and discovered the Ink Cartridge Set SW PCB is what's causing the issue. The drum is set to recognise the tab on the European CR Black ink tubes, which is different from Color tubes. Anyone got any experience with this conundrum? I'm planning on taking the PCB area apart to see if I can swap anything over to color, but wanted to check here first before breaking anything!

From Tech Manual:
1. Ink Cartridge Set SW
- > Ink Cartridge set SW checks the presence of the Ink Cartridge in the Ink Cartridge holder.
- > There are five switches on Cartridge set SW PCB as shown on below figure.
- > The machine will judge by the combination of these detecting Set Switches, whether the color
ink or the right type of black ink cartirdge are installed.
Depending on the region of the user, deferent type of CR Black ink will be distributed.
[Ink Cartridge type]
CR Color Ink
CR Black Ink 'type U' --------- U. S. region
CR Black Ink 'type E' --------- Europe region
CR Black Ink 'type C' --------- China region
CR Black Ink 'type A' --------- Asia region
If the deferent Ink Cartridge type is installed, the machine will indecate "Set Ink Cartrige inPlace"(Advice display No. 'C53').

Re: Riso CR1610 (EP) - Color Ink Tube Not Recognised in Black Drum
probably easier to just empty out the black ink tubes and wash them out and then transfer color ink in them.

Re: Riso CR1610 (EP) - Color Ink Tube Not Recognised in Black Drum
Good idea, although I managed a less messy workaround by snipping off the tabs from the ink tubes, and taping down the dip switch for black ink in the drum, so it thinks the cartridge is black ink and pumps it through anyway!
