    Cool RISO MASTER QUESTIONS

    Hello!

Some questions regarding RISO masters, any help would be much appreciated!

I have an RP3700. What is the difference between HD and non-HD master roll? I'd assume the quality of the print (for photos?) might be better on one, but is it really noticeable?

Is there any interchangeability between masters (ie between RN, GR, RP etc)? I assume the cardboard tube at the centre of the roll might be different in size - but would there be any problems if you very carefully transferred the roll of another machine onto it? I have just acquired a few rolls of other machines.

Are there any off-brand/cheaper master suppliers (again thinking about RP3700)? The prices and availability of these is getting very steep.

    Thankyou!

    Re: RISO MASTER QUESTIONS

HD masters are for the HD Black ink, in order to print in 600 dpi resolution. The other colors in the RP are not HD so this only makes a difference with black.

I never realsied that! If I ran non-HD masters with HD black, would it not be compatible, or just produce a lower quality output?
