Riso RP3505 drum color change
Is there any way to change an RP color drum to black?

The hard part is removing as much of the colored ink as possible.
To configure the drum for black in test mode set:
587 to 33
588 to either 17 (for A3), or 18 (for ledger), or 26 (for A4W/LT-R).
Ink up the drum using test mode 557. Burn test pattern 050 (it uses the most ink) and make as many copies as it take for the prints to start coming out black.
These instruction are specific for the RP 35xx/31xx models, so if anyone reading this is considering doing an RP 37xx model, the codes are different.

The ink tubes are different (opening / delivery end) from the color to the black inks.
Also a quick way to change or circulate ink is to burn a master using a "sky shot": meaning - make a master with the platen cover up / open, but lay a piece of white paper at the top or lead edge of the glass to get 1" to 1 1/2" of white space, or you will get lead edge margin jams (paper sticking to the drum, not separating).
