    Riso GR1750 rats

Ok, I don't need any help ... but I just gotta share this. Riso was dead in the water. The only thing that comes on is the power supply fan. I take of the back cover and there is rat dung everywhere. Off the main board one of the main wire harnesses has not only been chewed through, but about 4 inches of wire is actually missing! I have seen rats do some damage in machines before, but this is the first time I ever seen them EAT the wire. I was amazed. Fortunately I have a parts machine I was able to use for a replacement harness. As amazed as I was, it was nothing compared to the disgust of the customer who runs a small business out of her house where the Riso is located!!

I had to go look at a unit for RISO Columbia Branch at a South Carolina location (Aiken to be exact) - a new GR3770 (600dpi) - that was giving a scanner error. Turns out a mouse family had set up house keeping on the scanner control pcb and chewed up all the wiring, etc. Total loss - and the dude that ran the print shop was a State Rep to the South Carolina State House - I think RISO fixed or replaced the unit for nothing based on this guys political clout. Amazing...
