Does the machine work properly whith the walk up functions? If not the master could be in backwards/upside down.
Will it print a test pattern when in tech mode? Off the top of my head I think 118 will produce a checkered test pattern.
Yes, I can print a master from the glass and sometimes it will print from the computer thru the print controller but about 70% of the time it will print blank masters.
I don't have any of these in the field, so all of this is basic trouble shooting or speculation on my part. Double check the connections between the print interface and the Riso. If it is a separate/stand alone print interface, check the cable for kinks and damage. Also check the cable connectors for bent or damaged pins.
If it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, it kinda rules out the firmware of the machine, but check to make sure it's the most current for the interface.
If they are printing a secure PDF file it will print a blank page. I run across this with Riso technical manuals. When I want to print just one page, they come out blank because Risograph puts security on their PDF files.
I ended up downloading a utility that strips PDF of any security so that now I can manipulate the PDF files and print them any way I want to.
Don't know if this is your issue, but it is worth knowing.
Do you have the name of this utility?
If you are printing to this with a TCPIP port, It is recommened that you change the protocol to LPR, name the queue LP and set byte counting to enabled. I have had other machines do this. Not the MZ, but when I first started networking the RP series I woulld run into the same problem. Hope this helps.
Now we are getting a Network Communication is not Possible!!! Check Cable Connection.
