D02-532 Wrong type print cylinder installed

So I have been fighting this one for a while. I have a riso rn2000ui and no matter what drum I install in it I cannot get it to work. I always get the message D02-532 Wrong type print cylinder installed on the screen.

I found a post about changing an option under 588 in service mode but they said to change it to 33 and the display says the range is 1-16.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

My machine does not have 575 or 875. I have 588 set to 3. 511 - 514 are called INk Cartridge Set SW1, INk Cartridge Set SW2, etc... do I need to change those?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

511 to 514 should all be switched on!
587 should be set to 33 if black drum and 64 if a colour drum is used
    588 should be set to 3 for 400dpi or 1 for 300dpi
once you set that all run 557 and it should be set.

I go to the options 511-514 and hit start to open the option and then it just beeps and says "In action." How do I actually change the options for these?

Also i have no option 587. The menu skips right from 586 to 588.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy

This machine is giving you a hard time !

Ok lets start at the begining

Execute Test Modes Nos. 080 (Clear Error-Status Data),
    081 (Clear User Memory),
and 082 (Clear Test-Mode Data Setup).
Run Test Mode No. 588 (Print Drum Code), and enter the code of the currently set print drum if it is a (A4 black drum put in 5 and if it is a colour drum put in 6) If it is a B4 drum put in 3 for black and 4 for colour.
Run Test Mode No. 557 (Inking Action).
    Lets see if that works.

When did this happen? and what size drum do you have A4 or B4,what colour is this drum?
Have you checked your connector and drum switches?

I believe it started to happen when we installed a drum and got some advice from a technician about how to change the color of the drum to blue instead of black.

I have the factory drum installed now it is black. Is that A3 or B4? I thought originally that we could just change dip switches on this drum just like we did on our GR series machine when we needed to change the color of a drum on that machine. I can't find any switches on this drum. I took the dust cover off and I didn't see any. Is there somewhere else I should look?

I have a different drum that we purchased thinking there was a problem with the black drum (it is a green one) and I get the same error when I install that one.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy
