    Timing....

Could be the timing gears in the rear of the machine have stripped. Remove the rear cover. You can usually see the plastic ( black ) shavings laying on the rear frame of the machine. It will need the gears and to be retimed...whcih is VERY difficult if you dont have a service manual.

Other ideas. If you have older firmware in the machine, the machine can get lost in the master removal mode IF you dont have a master on the drum for it to discard. SO cut a master by hand and lay it on the drum and push the drum back in. When its says to resume master making ( or something like that ) hit "start" and it will remove the hand cut master and hopefully resume working as normal.

Check the white discs on the clamp and make sure they arent broken.Usually the front one is broke and doesnt want to unload a master.

    Hi
I have had a similar problem. Behind the master unit there is a sensorunit that detects whether the master is on the drum. Mine wasn't aligned proberly so i gave it a gentle push towards the drumroll.
