    RISO SC7700 Drivers

Has anyone discovered a work-around or generic driver (or legitimate driver) for the RISO SC7700 Rip that works with a MAC (either Classic OS or OSX)?

    Thanks much (in advance),
    M

    sc7700 ppd

you can get a ppd (printer driver) for sc7700 from :
    Index of /pub/ppd_adobe/SofHa
the sc7700 should appear when you add a printer in osx (ip printer if you know the ip add or appletalk)
then just choose to use the ppd instead of the generic postcript one..
    works fine in osx

Thanks. Still can't seem to get it to work. Does anyone out there have the original SC7700 CD ROM? According to the manual there is Classic MAC OS software included on the disc.

Right but on this page you will find 4 PPDs for 600dpi machines.
Who knows which one is needed?

well i guess it depends which rip and which riso you have... if you have an sc7700 and a gr3770 you will need the
    SC7700 GR 600 dpi V1.0A
    file
use your common sense i guess, i presume the J stands for Japan(?)

    Thanks for your repley but:

I got the information from Riso telling me that a connection (compatiballity) is not possible between SC7700 and the iMAC with Intelprocessor.
In other words a Driver for the iMAC (Intel) is not available.

That is incorrect. I have an intel iMac running the SC7700 driver just fine (almost every day). The problem is not the intel iMac, it is the OS. Mac OS 10.5X (leopard) was the last one I had success running directly. I can share the printer and access from another iMac running OS 10.6 (snow leopard) through bonjour sharing. Let me know if this is what you need and I can give you more detailed info.

    Hope this helps!

i'm controlling 2 sc7700's from 10.6 (snow leopard) In 10.5 apple got rid of appletalk but you can add sc7700's using their ip in 10.6 as long as their ip address is in your network otherwise you will need to set it via the console program (which requires windows/os9).

I would be interested in knowing how to run my SC7700 with my MacBook Pro with OS 10.6.8 installed. We also

    My duplicator is a GR3770.

    Thanks a lot!
