Unhappy RZ220 UI leaving roller marks on back of prints

    Hello from Oslo, Norway!

I am writing because I just purchased a used RZ220 machine and am having problems with streaks / marks on the back of prints.

It is working okay when I print very light masters or text only, but as soon as I print anything dense (i.e. full bleed images) all the prints come out with streaks on the back.

The streaks look like they are from (what I think is) the pressure roller. And sure enough, I opened up the machine the skinny black roller below where the drum is seems to have these bars of ink that seem to match the streaks. I tried using mineral spirits a few times to get some of it off but it doesn't really affect the print quality. The ink seems to be endless.. is this normal?

    Best,
    Jessica

What size prints are you running, and what size original? Do you have access to a different drum to try?

I've just been running A4 prints but the drum size is legal.

I think to add to my confusion (I'm learning as I go) the drum screen is very new so it took a bunch of pages for it to fully ink up. Also on the drum the masters seem to be max. A4.

I don't have another drum to test but I do have extra larger (legal/A3) masters. Should I try installing these instead of the ones currently there?

On the trail edge of the master on the drum is there a white edge of master material, it would only be 5-6mm long? Trail edge being the end not caught under the magnetic clamp plate holding the lead edge.
