8.5x11 border on my 11x17 prints?
Hello,
I'm in the middle of converting the color of a 11x17 drum I recently got and I noticed it has a dark border around where the 8.5x11 prints would run, see picture attached. Has anyone seen this before? I got the drum from a church that mostly ran 8.5x11, the drum also could have been sitting for a while. I'm wondering if I need to clean drum screen or just continue blasting another couple hundred 11x17 copies and it will disappear. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks!

What make and model of machine are you working on? And what is the original you are using to make that print?

RISO RP 3700 and for the original I'm just leaving the scan cover open and covering the leading edge slightly, basically trying to get as heavy of an ink coverage as possible. When I look at the drum the 8.5x11 border is showing up is showing on the screen as well as any master I make.

The screen has gotten impressioned from the previous users. They most likly ran a lot of 8.5 x 11 on the drum. What is count on the drum?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not actually sure on how to check the copy count on a drum? Is there a way to clean the 8.5x11 impression?
Thanks again!

With the drum in the machine and turned on, open the front door, then on the touch panel select counter. Three numbers, copy, master, and cylinder. Cylinder is the count for impressions on that drum.

You can try removing the screen and cleaning it (see other posts on cleaning drums), but I feel the the screen has gotten deformed from the use. Its metal so I guess dented would be a correct term too.
