Due to the fact that it itermittently indicates top cover open and when I checked physically the sensor, there is evidence of some kind of glue like substance on it.
Those covers are plastic and seems to break real easy. Are you sure the screws haven't backed out or become loose? We were going to order one but turns out they cost like $400.

No they havent. it really seems like the sensor cause the message is intermitt.
