Most manufacturers have training classes available. You usually have to be a tech for either a branch, an authorized dealer, or a major national account with a self servicing contract.
I've been to both.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.
Riso's is close to Boston. Been many times.
I dont have much copier experience - I am a technician at a printshop that primarily uses lithography and intaglio.
I am interested in attending - any advice as how that could be possible?
I don't believe the shop does enough publishing of that sort to become a reseller. Are there other schools that take open enrollment?
Appreciate the response,
PJ
Years ago Riso would only train techs from official Riso dealers and from the U. S. Marines. Wanna serve your country? Consider the Marines!
That might not work, though. There is an important reason they include the description "The Few, The Proud" with the U. S. Marines. I crossed paths with them during the time I was probably in the Army Reserves, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have made it there.
That being said, you might find this useful:
