hello, we solved the problem, actually neither the motor nor the power supply were bad. actually some riso expert i talked to on the phone told me to see if the flap on top of the drum got stuck while the machine tried to remove the master. this sometimes happens when it doesn't turn easily anymore. so i moved the scanner table to the left and rotated the drum slightly to the right. and this is all that was wrong. after removing the drum from the machine i put some lube on the moving parts of the flap to make it turn easily again. so we were lucky it wasn't a total loss of the machine - we were close to buying another riso...
