Lightbulb RISO GR3750 broken Ink Cartridge Locking Lever

    Hi Risograph Gurus–

I'm working on a machine and several of the drums give replace ink cartridge warnings – it seems like the little green levers that hold the cartridges in place are broken off on these drums. I see no mention of them in the service manual. In the User's Guide they're identified as #19 on page 9.

Any idea if these are possible/easy to replace, or how to replace them, or if there's a workaround to replacing them?

Also trying to understand what these clips do aside from just holding the cartridges in place – do they have anything to do with ink flow? A bunch of the drums on this unit are missing them.

    Thanks for the help here–

Those levers aren't that hard to replace if you can find replacements for them. There is only one "e-clip" and one spring that you need to pay attention to while doing that.
For what it is worth, holding the ink bottles in place is all those levers do. And they only do that well with ink bottles that are exactly the size of ink bottles from Riso.

    Hi Iowatech –

Thanks so much for the feedback. Good to know – I think I was confusing why a drum wasn't inking with the lever being broken, but I ran test mode 101 and the drum reinked itself, even without the lever. If anyone has a suggestion of a source for such lever parts let me know. Otherwise I thought I might 3D print some new ones using Shapeways...

    All best.
