Hi.

Just a question from a lazy and average IT oak.

Is there any way to create a file that you can, say run from your flash drive, to install a network printer? Like a batch file or something. Just a quicker way than having to install driver on 20 PC, creating a port (the IP add), doing have disk, point to the driver, and all that jazz?

Is this software really useful? Does it do anything that others don't, like creating searchable PDFs out of scanned files? Or is it just another file organizer with a cute look over it?

My boss asked me to try and find a free solution for creating searchable PDFs, but I don't really there's one. You got tesserac, which is an open-source software to OCR images into text files, but to convert a PDF into searchable (and I don't mean editable), I guess you need a paid program like DigiDocFlow - Or am I wrong?

Cheers!

I have two customers using Kerio mail server. Both customers have Konica Minolta copiers and they want to use scan to email. One customer has a C353 and the other is C351. Both machines will not authenticate with the Kerio mail server, I have tried other machines with no luck as well. I figure the SMTP authentication level is set too high for the machine. Has anyone had any experience with Kerio Mailserver?

I'm trying to add a Muratec MFX-1330 GDI driver to a Windows 2003 Server, but the installer doesn't add the printer automatically. When I go to manually create the port (Muratec HTTP Port), it tell's me "Specified Port Cannot be Added. The Request is not Supported".

It only happens on the customer's server - I can do it successfuly on a WS2003 installation on a VM.

Anyone has a clue on why this happens?

We installed a Ricoh MP 171 on a customer who, turns out, has a Mac. Of course, when my colleague installed the PCL drivers, the machines only prints out garbage.

Is the only solution for Mac printing the installation of a PostScript option (which, in this model, costs almost as much as the MFP itself)?

And, generally speaking, when a customer tells us he needs to print from Mac, should we always assume we need a PS-capable machine to do it?

I'm not Mac sawy, I don't even know how to install a printer on it without looking around for a bit, so any little bit of help is appreciated.

I'm trying to install an IP-421 on a Konica 7020. The print controller was tested before I received it. The controller installed easily and no problem indicators are present. I can see the printer on an Appletalk network.

However, I cannot print from the copier (using the panel). The unit seems to scan fine- the hard drive available space declines when I scan- and the data LED is illuminated. I cannot, however, get it to print anything from the copier- or any attached Appletalk machines. I would try to connect via IP, but as I cannot print a config test page, I do not know what the assigned IP address is.

Any help would be appreciated. Both my user and service manuals say that if the controller won't print from the panel, it must be defective- which I know to be incorrect (at least before it was shipped to me).

Thank you!
Jared
