I have been searching for the source of a maddening squeel on the km 8030... I greased thee gears on the fuser, the transfer belt, even the gear box but nothing worked until I started looking at the duplexer... here is how I actually solved it... in the duplexer on b2 there are some white rollers.... these guys went dry... i took them out... well they actually popped out and i greased them up... once i did that then the copy went silent... it was sweet... to verify that this is true for you... take out the duplexer... place it vertical on your lap with the back of the unit facing you... and then spin the biggest gear on it... as fast as you can... it should squeek a bit... now just imagine that squeek amplified b y speed and vibration... and you basically have it... another way is to go into service mode and turn on the duplexer... that should narrow it down as well... i think its a 30's service mode... well just wanted to share...

FS1010 Feed Solenoid (FEDDRN) Intermittent Problem

Hi,

Hi,

I am new to the board. I just posted this in the copier section - woops.

The following thread is the closest I came to finding something similar to my issue : "kyocera-fs-1010-firmware"

THE PROBLEM

Today my FS1010 stopped picking up paper from the Cassette.

The feed roller was not moving, yet everything else sounded fine. I isolated the problem to the feed solenoid (clutch). It is only intermittently working to allow the feed roller to pick up the paper, i.e. sometimes it operates correctly and other times it does not at all...mostly it does not.

Is this likely to be a fault with the solenoid, or is it likely to be an electrical fault with the Engine Board? I noticed that the service manual does not contain a circuit diagram of the Engine Board KP-882 :(

This has been a great printer and I would like to be able to fix it.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
Nick
