I have an IR-2200 copier that I bought used. I wanted networked printing, so I asked the place if they had an available unit, they had a NIC and Boot Rom pulled from an old system, they said just plug it into the system. I installed the NIC and Boot Rom, turned on the machine and it was a blank display. When I reinstalled the original Boot Rom the display returned and the copier worked as before (except it recognized the NIC, and the computer could see it but it did not have the IR-2200 software, IR-2200N to run as a network printer, I learned on this forum). I left the back open (which also I noticed one of the screws sheered off (is that normal)?). I called to a copy repair place in town, they said to reprogram it to IR-2200N it would be $225.00 and in the meantime they told me to put in the Boot Rom from the old system and hold down 0 + 9 on restart to check everything. Everything went blank, but it clicks every couple of minutes. I waited for a few hours, and the clicking went away. I put in the old Boot Rom and now the copier won't start at all. What the hell did he have me do?

I'm livid, and I'm pretty concerned I just ruined the copier or he was trying to hold me for ransom. Can I download something to put it back, I don't care about printing at this point I really want my fax and copier functions back? Should I go to another copier place, how much will it be to repair? Not sure what should I do next, can anybody help? Anything to help would be appreciated!

In light of the fact the Canon CLC4040 has been on the market for about 4 years and been superseded by a newer model would be wise to get one now? The purchase would be a 5 year lease. Feedback would be helpful as well as recommendations of other models.

Many thanks

Dear Experts, :):)
I have a CLC 1110 copier machine which make till now about 95000 copy and still look as new.
The problem is I have an error codes E071-0001 and E071-F000, and sometimes shows jammed paper on the TD (but no paper is jammed). I called a certificated service men they try a lot of variants to eliminate the errors, they replace the TD, replace the motor of the TD lifters and replace the motor of TD polisher, but without a result, they replace the DC controller even replace the electronic card of the TD and polisher lifter, also they replace the all base where the TD and fixing unit are lay, they clean and test all the sensors but without a result, they even take parts of my machine and try it on their machines and my parts work perfectly.
The problem also is the motor of the polish lifter does not lift the polisher at all on my machine even if it is ok and worked on other machines, and at this point my machine report error and even if the process of polishing pass which is in my case is rare, first copy stuck in the TD and again the error code appear again
Four service firm try to fix it but without a result.
Please you are my last chance and please consider that any information will help me :):)

Please if any information or details needed, feel free to message me.
Thank you a lot :):)

My Canon PC920 makes a grinding noise when powered on. The scanner lamp and cable assembly can be moved back and forth smoothly by turning the scanner motor so I think the cable is ok. I moved the lamp to the far end by turning the scanner motor and turn on the power. The lamp will move back to its resting position smoothly but then make a grinding noise and error code of E210 displayed. Then I found a piece of broken plastic part inside the copier. Some one has diagnosed as a broken len tension pulley and told me it could be an easy fix. Is it possible to buy the part and do a DIY repair? I am not a technician but am fairly handy. Thanks for your help.

Hi!
I have very strange problem with this device.
Before three weeks fax come to me with "scanner error", at first look that was very easy to solve- somebody was open scanner to release jammed document from ADF and forgot to close scanner.
I just close scanner and device was worked perfectly. Then I decide to clean rollers and separator in ADF (because device was in function more than two years without any service). After cleaning ADF device work perfectly again (copying & faxing without any problems maybe twenty times) so I decide to return device to owner.
Then after maybe five days they call for service because " original document is jamming" so I go there (tomorrow) to see what is the problem and all I can see is that device work just fine. OK! After few days (again!) same problem(they cant send doc), so I go again (same day) and there was some unbelievable situation-one document was in start position in ADF and on display is "original doc. jam". They send fax and this doc was missfeed - OK dey dont know how to work in that situation !?! unbelievable!!!!! just remove doc from feeding tray pres stop and send fax again-work 1000% I show them what to do (this was before eight days).
Today my colleagues bring to me this device AGAIN!!! with same problem (now its madness!!!) and again I open device check every screw and rollers (everything is perfect) close device and try every possible situation copy in first time 10 copies x2, 20 copies x2, 30 copies x1, sending faxes- and nothing, not a single malfunction at all!!!
Every technician that I call today (and they have more experience then I) to find solution first time heard for this problem (the biggest problems was or fixing roller or feeding roller in paper tray or dirty scanner or laser) they don't even have spare rollers for ADF (didn't need them) and they fixed this model on dozen!!!!
Please any idea, any solution, any answer, suggestion ..... any joke(joke) will be helpful!!!!!
I'm desperate!!!!

Hi Pat,
Are you certain that this box is print enabled? The network port does not mean that it is good to go. You can get to RUI, and ping the beasty without a print kit installed. If you check your Counter button on the op panel, and click on installed options on the bottom of the panel you can see what features have been installed. You need to look for UFR, PCL or PS versions if it can print.
