Customer is using preprinted paper. It appears that the paper contains offset powder that is coating the rollers in the copier and causing slippage and misfeeds. I can clean the feed rollers and within 20 copies they turn white with dust and start to misfeed. Please comment if you have any experience with preprinted paper issues. I am having a difficult time convincing sales that the paper may be the cause of the problem.

Does anyone know if there is a special procedure for forcing this machine to load firmware from a CF card? We have a machine here that was being updated using one of the utilities (KMnet Viewer, I think) and something apparently happened during the firmware loading process. Now when you turn on the machine it just says "Self test", some motors run for a few seconds and that's it. It does the same thing when a CF card with firmware is present as well. Any ideas? I realize that a new main board would probably solve this issue, but I can't see spending the money on a main board when it might even be cheaper to just replace the whole printer. Thanks guys...

I've got two Copystar 1810 copiers that I bought off lease and they came in with toner and developer all over. I cleaned them up but now they feed paper, go through the motions of making a copy once, and then code J98 comes up. It says BD laser error! I took one laser apart to check, (carefully). Seems OK, no dirt inside. What do you think?
Thanks,

I have a client who had some greyness in the copies... I attempted to adjust through sim mode 101.... I took everything back to the settings for sim mode 101 in the manual... this eventually resulted in the toner hopper motor throwing out a c7000 code or the toner hopper motor squeeling horribly... we took the machine back to the shop and gave the customer a loaner... We had a kyocera area tech come down and look at it...

He did a sim mode 20 and took it back to factory... the copier was only used for copying so nothing important was removed... he then went into sim mode 101 and decreased shift bias by 10 and duty by 10

this took care of the issue

I also found out that you can export all but the network settings via sim mode 917 using the export option available...
