Having a difficult time with a missfeed where it shows a jam in the drum and a jam in the feeder but there is nothing in the drum area and the paper/envelope just starts into the machine and is not picked up by the rollers. Blowing air in the feeder sometimes helps - sometimes not. Blowing on the inner rollers and sensors sometimes will clear the problem for some time also, problem always comes back. Sorry this sounds so sketchy. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Just have a question on a Riso GR3750.

A client has one of these in his office as well as their Sharp MX5500N. The Riso is showing 'Call for Service T11'.

I have no idea, and said I would find out some info for him.

Any suggestions? Frankly, I dont care about it as I will not be fixing it. I'm just being friendly and said I would see what the code means. If its something simple.... great...... if not..... I dont want to know about it!

I posted to the wrong forum. I think I'm in the right place now.
I am not a technician, but machine problem "fixer" most of the time. Our Riso GR1700 is way out of warranty and the school will no longer call a real repairperson. The error code is C26, but I have been everywhere I can find to look for a master misfeed. How can I access the entrance into the master disposal? Is there a schematic to show just what will move and can be removed? I'm ready to use a hammer.
Thanks.

I have a little business in Key West, FL and have wanted to get a Risograph for a long time and have watched eBay a lot. Either too far away or too expensive.

Anyway, I just purchased and picked up two Risograph FR2950ui units. They look good and only have 3700 masters and 111000 copies. They were used by a printer and have been in a storage unit for 6 months.
The ink on the masters in the disposal boxes was still wet, so I hope the drums are not dried out. There were no masters so I have those ordered, but can't do anything until I get those.

Which machines were made first, the GR or the FR? I see no drums ever for sale for the FR but I see an occasional drum that are FR/GR. These drums are all 8.5 inches wide. I gather if they have the (W) they are 11 inches for the machines that use those. I assume that the 8.5 will work in machines that also do 11x17. It seems there are different size masters too.

The 8.5 GR drums look the same. I purchased a green one. I figured if they don't work I will get a GR machine too in the not too distant future.

Want to buy some more GR drums as the price is really good. Will they work, and if not, why not? Then, where are all the FR drums? It makes no sense to me to make changes to drums for machines that must be about the same age and have the same specs.

In fact, can anyone explain why Riso has so many different machines that seem to have the same or very similar specs?

Riso GR 3770 New Ink Shipment Problem

Previously my ink supplier's Riso compatible GR 3770 HD black ink has worked fine.

But today's newly received black ink shipment isn't working...

Previously my ink supplier's Riso compatible GR 3770 HD black ink has worked fine.

But today's newly received black ink shipment isn't working although the tubes appear to seat properly in the machine: when a tube is inserted in the drum, it didn't remove the Message, "Install Ink Cartridge." The new shipment doesn't say "HD" but it does say, "Digital Duplicator Ink Premium Black: GR/RA/RC series." In addition there is a sticker added that says, "For use in Risograph 3750/3770, RC/RA, 680GRF"

I phoned the supplier and questioned whether the problem is that it isn't HD ink, but they say this is what they ship to 3750 and 3770 machines and it works fine.

Note: I tried using my exhausted cartridge (which does say "HD") again after pushing the disk inside further to the front with a stick, and the machine accepted it like a new cartridge and said "close front cover" so I take that to mean the machine works ok when the ink and cartridge are right.

Question: If I have been supplied non HD ink, should it work anyway in my GR 3770 Riso?

I'm going to talk again Monday with my supplier who is very willing to make things right. Any suggestions about this problem? Thanks, Charles.
