    Re: Oki C9800 "communication error"

It seems you bought the MFP version of the C9800. The printer can't communicate with the scanner. Had this error a few years ago. Firmware didn't solve it then. It was a faulty interface board between the scanner and the printer. Firmware should be loaded using the Maintenance Utility (I think Paul can provide you with all the software). But you really should know what you're doing. Loading the wrong firmware can render your machine useless.

You can also disconnect the scanner and remove the interface board (the board the scanner connects to). You should be able to use the machine but only as a printer.

i would rather prefer the second option
do you know how can i disconnect the scanner from de printer? cause i can not see any scanner on it or something like that

i can also do the second thing if you provide me whit the steps onhow to do it, i would really aprecciate that , i mean, the printer does not work at all right now, so if i screw it it would be same :P

PD: i dont think i have an scanner

Ok, you don't have the scanner unit. Then loading firmware is the only option.

I don't have that firmware anymore. Contact Paul from justmanuals.com, he can provide it for a reasonable price.
