Just wondering how hard it was to replace this unit. Im figuring its not to hard but this is for a non customer on a off brand printer to me so I would like to know a little something about what im doing before I show up.

    HP 5550 Transfer Kit

its very similar to 4600. lift up top cover, open front door, and pull down on green handles of the transfer belt. Then you will see 2 release levers on either side of the transfer belt. Just slide them back while pulling the belt toward you. Reverse process to install.

My customers do change these themselves. A user should have no trouble.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Thumbs up

I agree with the comments above. This is an easy one, just find the release latches on either side and the hardest part is done.

Its a very easy replacement, but if the machine is calling for it it's probably a good time for an overall cleaning and check of rollers ect.

    HP Transfer Kit C9734B

This is EXTREMELY EASY to remove and install another one. However, there's been a nationwide backorder of this product from HP since August. So if anyone knows of someone who has this in stock, I'd love to hear where.

On this product, you just pull up on the tabs at the bottom where it connects to the printer. And then pull it off. That's all there is to it! You can install another by reverse it. It's just that easy!!

Maybe HP should have made their Photosmart range and other inkjets entirely out of light blue plastic then??
