    hp 5550 49.0505 error

    got me stumped.
new formatter, new fw chip, new dimm. I have two new sets of each and none of them work. boots up, calibrates then goes right into error.
    any ideas?

Did you have the network cable or any other cables connected when you power up the printer? If so, remove the cable(s) and power up again to see if error clears.

has to be firmware connection issue, have you checked the board pins on either on the dimm or the chip, otherwise could be a fault on the mainboard
Can you fix it........we can fix anything its just how many parts do u wanna pay for

The 49.xx.yy error code can be caused by a defective print job (the machine's firmware doesn't understand the print job the computer is sending to the printer). At least that's what I've seen. Clearing the print queue fixes that most of the time.

Nothing connected and jet direct card removed, it prints and engine test just fine.

I mean, all S**t points to boards/dimm etc. but what are the odds that 2 fresh sets do the same thing? might just have to consult Johnny Walker..

I would convince the local IT to assign a new unused IP. Whatever is sending data to your printer ... well just let it continue to send to that old IP. Its much harder to find the sender. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

ive done that and a disk clear as well, and reloaded FW. It boots normally, then calibrates the goes ready for about a second before it codes.
