HP CM6030 50.A

We have a customer with an HP Laserjet cm6030 which comes up with 50.A error. Customer installed two new fusers but fault continued to show. We have replaced RM1-3218 fuser power supply which cured the fault for a couple of weeks but know the error has come back. Customer switches off and on then fine for a while.We have been back a couple of times now and checked all connections, wiring from fuser connector etc to PCB, also cleaned thermopile which was extremely dirty. Worked again for a while but now fault back yet again. Any ideas would be appreciated. Frustrated!!

If you're getting dirty thermistors, could have something to do with the toner they're using. OEM? Or even the paper.

They are using original toners. Not sure about paper though. They have 3 new original fusers sitting there and all of them come up with the error. I am going to try changing the fuser connector and lead as this has been mentioned as a possibility and the thermopile. Any other ideas would be appreciated

You did not mentioned if you updated the firmware. That is the first thing i would do. This is a heavy duty machine. Try installing a heavy duty surge protector and check the power cord if it is a heavy duty type. Also check the power source outlet and make sure that no other device is on the outlet. Everything else fails, replace dc controller, as it send the signals to the fuser control board.
This machine is a very nice colour machine, but hp sucks when is comes to supporting its product with know faults and fixes and their error codes can mean a zillon things.

Also, i would remove and reinstall all the connectors from the fuser pwb to dc controller and others. loose connections can cause all kind of issues.

appreciate your help guys.hadn't thought about initializing nvram will try that along with reseating connectors. i have just about every part now that can be replaced to sort this issue so hopefully somewhere down the line we will find the cure

I'm wondering if this got resolved as I have a potential customer with the same symtoms. Their corpoate office is sending them down a fuser currently.

This turned out to be the fuser connector socket assembly (in the machine) causing the fault. We fitted new socket which came complete with connector leads which go to the fuser power supply pcb. I can only assume the pins inside get pitted or worn. I would replace this first rather than the fuser. Easy enough to fit. Let me know if you require part number.
