    HP M880 duplex jams

    Hi all,

I'm currently seeing a few HP M880 devices reported for jamming in the duplex turnabout unit. On arrival the device appears to be working but customer keeps booking service visits on different devices for the same problem.

Just wondered if there are any known issues or faults with Duplex jamming on this Model?

Any feed back will be appreciated.

    Thanks

    ● 13.DF.D1
This jam occurs when the media does not reach the duplex delivery sensor (SR302) in a designated
amount of time after the duplex switchback sensor SR301 sensed the leading edge.

The fuser is printing in fuser mode Auto Sense special case distinguished from "typed Normal.

    ● 13.D3.D1
This jam occurs when the media does not reach the Duplex re-feed sensor (SR304) in designated
amount of time after the Duplex Switchback sensor (SR302) sensed the leading edge

The fuser is printing in fuser mode Auto Sense special case distinguished from "typed" Normal.

What was the fix for this issue? I have a few models out that is throwing up the same error.

It seems to be randomly happening. I have changed the duplex unit, fuser, transfer belt and all rollers. It seems like its a sensor of some sort.

I had this issue on an M880 and ended up replacing the duplex reverse unit -- RM2-5061

    Re: HP M880 duplex jams

I have attended a number of calls on these range of HP products (laserjet enterprise flow machines both colour and mono) where the customer had reported constant jamming. After testing the machine I removed the duplex unit, located above the fuser, removed the two motors attached to the side of the duplexer, found them to be slightly stiff and sticky, lubricated them and refitted. The machine then had a good run without jamming.
Although there is a part number on the motors, you cannot order them as separate parts (at the moment), you have to replace the whole duplexer.
I have, so far, found lubricating the motors to be satisfactory.

Now that you mention that, I noticed that too. I just replaced the assembly. The user is over an hour away and don't need to make multiple trips when the issue comes back.
