HP Designjet T1120 error code 86:01

I have a customer that is getting message "possible paper jam" with the infamous code 86:01. I ran a carriage test and it gave me a code indicating the line sensor. I replaced it. Then ran another carriage test. this time it failed with code 21:13 which indicates "service station fail to move". I ran the service station and scan axis test and it gave me the same 21:13 code. I took off the right cover to observe the movement of the service station and the carriage as it makes contact with the service station and it appears to be working fine. I took the service station off to examine it and I see no appearances of anything wrong. I cleaned the encoder strip. I examined the movement of the belt. I examined the belt as best I could and all seems to be good. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I did lubricate the shaft but used tri-flo lubrication. That was all I had. Is it possible that tri-flo is too thick a lube? I did not take carriage off to see if there was some build up where the shaft fits.

Forgetting about the various tests for a minute, what happens when you start the machine and try to run it?

It starts the initialization, the carriage does one cycle to left. Then when it returns home, you hear a clicking sound like it is trying to cycle again. Then it errors out with the 86:01 and message "possible paper jam"

Excluding electrical problems that are not easily seen, so I solved the mechanical problems (86:01).
I removed the cutting wheel, I lubricated with gun oil the carriage of steel, I checked the bearing of the printhead carriage: they must not be dirty and, in the carriage turned off the machine must have a good movement.
off the machine the carriage must move well.
After you have screw (1 screw) the cutting wheel.
    the belt is good?

    good luck

I would replace the belt first. While you have the carriage off, inspect the encoder strip very carefully and clean and lube the rail. If that doesn't work, I would replace the carriage. Some people would replace the carriage PCA instead of the whole carriage.

Remove the print heads and try powering it up. If you don't get the error, it's a bad print head.

If you look at the bottom of the print head along where the nozzels are, that orange-ish plastic will often have come detached and stand out, and it will cause problems with the service station.

Also, it's not recommended to use any kind of petroleum-based lubricant on these printers. The bushings in the carriage are plastic, and petroleum oil will dissolve plastics. Use Nye oil. It's what HP supplies with the printers.
