Hello all,
I have a HP CLj M553 that will not print black.
I've change toner
Ive changed laser scanner
I've changed High volt board
I've changed secondary transfer roller
I've changed transfer belt
Nothing inside machine looks to be deformed or out of place.

Re: no black printing
Have you tried an engine test to see if it formatter related?

I tried a formatter from another working machine

Re: no black printing
Try the black toner from the working machine. Especially if the machine is not furnished with HP toner ordered directly from HP.
I had a CLM 6040 that all three non-OEM black drum units on hand had been baked to a crisp. No error message, and no black print either (CMY was fine). I had to drive to the office and pick up an OEM unit to fix that (around 80 mile round trip). It was a lucky thing that I had another tech helping me out then, while I was on the road he took the black drum units apart and found that the developer had turned rock solid and broke the augers and developer seal release mechanism. We wrecked an entire day figuring that out.
I suppose you might double check the contacts in the cavity the toner is fitted into as well, but that sounds like a pretty new machine so that's kind of a long shot.
And that's all I've got for now, unless there are paper jams on the ETB and the machine is making a noise that sounds like the Nostromo's self destruct alarm.

Re: no black printing
Sometimes when I have color problems with these machines I have to do a nvram dump and/or cold reset, then try calibrating again.
