Re: Ink stains on carpet from HP T1100
Move the machine over it. LOL. I like that.
If I were you, I would not approach this as your problem. If you do, you're giving the customer a signal that you're at fault... when you aren't. I would approach it as trying to be helpful. Like, making a phone call and saying, "Hey some other techs told me that such and such might work... but most of them agree that the stain is here to stay. So you might think about putting a throw rug under your machine, so that if it ever leaks any more, it won't cause more damage."
You see--you leave it in his hands, because it's ultimately his problem.

Re: Ink stains on carpet from HP T1100
Well..once the ink oxidizes (dries) you might well be SOL but.
try some Coopers D-INK - works wonders but not tried it on carpet.
Precision rollers part number S5520 but I'm sure you can find it elsewhere.
I deal with postage machines and their ink is indelible when oxidized..you can tell when one of my techs has had a bad day or has let himself run out of gloves. They will be red handed for days.
We have little bitty font lawyer words on our contracts and service tickets for reasons like these.

Re: Ink stains on carpet from HP T1100
Thanks for the replies, however helpful. I will try at least one more time to get the stains out.
I will look around for some of those items mentioned. I will also check into using a drop cloth in the future.
I may call zerorez and check out their empowered water.
The best I could do is give him the service call for the stains, then it could be viewed as a settlement.
Thank you everyone for your help.

Hair spray works great on lots of ink so head to Walmart for the cheapest travel size you can find and see what happens.
